BeforethebatterybecomestoolowforoperatingthedevicethePowerLEDturns
red to warn that the battery level is critical (lower than 20 %). If you continue
working without charging, the device will shut down. A fully discharged battery
requiresupto4hoursofchargetime
tobecomefullycharged.Butwithin3hours
thebatterywillbechargedatleastupto90%.
Battery life will depend on the sensors and features used but typically you can
expecttouseCLABbetweenatleast4hours(incaseof3sensorsconnected)up
to 8 hours without recharging it. To save power turn off CLAB when youdo not
need it. To prolong
battery life, automatic power down turns off CLAB after 10
minutesofinactivity.Thenexttimeyouturniton,itisexactlyasyouleftit.
In the case that CLAB is used standalone (see also 8.3) and the measureme n t
settingsare:
measurementtimelongerthan2hours,
and
samplingfrequencylessthanonesampleper2minutes,
CLABissetintoaPower‐saveModeand willturnitselfoffbetweencollectingdata
samples.It awakes2 secondsbefore anewsamplehas tobecollected.Data are
saved in CLAB memory in between. In
Power‐save Mode the Motion detector
BT55icannotbeused.
Thelifeofthebatteryismorethan300full(0to100%)chargingcycles.Ifcharging
cycle is not full e.g. 30% to 60% it will last more charging cycles. Exposure to
temperatureover35

Cwillsignificantlyreducebatterylife.Areplacementbattery
canbeorderedseparately.

CLABcanbeusedwhilethebatteryisbeingcharged.
CLABtypicallyconsumesabout150mA.Ifyouconnectmanysensorsthenpower
consumptioncanbehigher.
WhentheUSBportdoesnotprovideenoughpower,CLABwillnotbechargedorcharging
willbesignificantly
slower.
